HOME >> Political Service My first entry to local politics was in 1997 when a neighbor asked me to run for a seat on the Glastonbury Town Council. I accepted the offer and was elected for a two-year term. When I ran again in 1999, not only did I win but was elected to serve as Vice Chairman of the Council as my party won a majority.

In 2001, the Glastonbury Democratic Party honored me as Democrat of the Year.

In the fall of 2002, the party leaders persuaded me to run for a seat in the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 31st State Assembly District. We ran a vigorous, well-organized campaign against an entrenched four-term incumbent. In the end I did not win, but we energized the community and were applauded for running a good race.

I have preserved a number of items from that campaign which you may find interesting and informative.
